Étiqueté : single bet calculator
So — been on this thing for about six months now and I keep coming back, so figured I’d chuck my thoughts in since a lad on another thread asked me the other day. I’m UK based, mostly bet football and racing, small stakes, just so you know where I’m coming from.
The reason I started using it was honestly embarrassing — I could never work out what an e/w payout actually came to once you get five places instead of three. Basically I’d guess and moan when the payout landed. Now I stick my stake in before every slip, even the boring singles.
The single bet calculator is the part I open most — you put in stake and odds and you get returns instantly, either odds format. It also handles the multiples — acca and treble maths, lucky 15 and lucky 63, a yankee, which is where most people I know lose track. If you fancy a poke about, it’s here each way winnings calculator and there’s no login wall, which I appreciated.
The thing that actually made a difference was the more serious bits. There’s an odds-to-probability converter that shows what margin’s baked in, and there’s the kelly calculator — I use half kelly as the full version is a quick route to a dead bankroll. Dutching calculator is handy too if I’m covering two or three runners.
Couple of gripes. The interface looks a bit basic — zero polish, looks like it was built by someone who cares more about maths than colours. On my phone it’s fine though the bigger tables are a squeeze. There’s no proper app, just the site — slight shame but worth saying.
Right, that’s me. Free, not plastered in adverts, does what it says. Anyone who even now works out returns on a calculator app, try it — saved me a fair few dumb bets I’d have regretted.
OK — been using this thing for about a few months now and it’s stuck on my phone, reckon I’d chuck my thoughts in since someone asked me a few days back. I’m UK based, mainly stick to footie and the horses, small stakes, so take it how you like.
How I found it was honestly a bit daft — I couldn’t ever work out what an e/w return would be once you get five places instead of three. I’d just wing it and then be surprised. Now type the odds in first, every time, even a straight one-selection punt.
Their single bet calculator is the part I open most — you drop in stake and odds and it shows profit and total return with no faffing, fractional or decimal, doesn’t matter. There’s also the fiddly ones — acca and treble maths, a lucky 15, patents and yankees, honestly that’s where most people I know mess it up. If you fancy a poke about, it lives at student matched betting calculator — free, no signup.
One thing that actually changed how I bet was the nerdier bits. There’s an probability calculator and it makes obvious how much the bookie’s taking, plus a kelly calculator — I stick to fractional kelly as the full version is a quick route to a dead bankroll. The dutch tool is decent if I’m splitting a race.
Couple of gripes. Its design feels a bit basic — zero frills, looks like it was built by someone who cares more about maths than colours. On my phone it works but the acca grid are a squeeze. And no proper app, it’s a website and that’s it — slight shame but you asked.
Anyway. Costs nowt, no ads shoved in your face, does what it says. If anyone still does the maths on paper, try it — saved me a fair few « wait, that’s it? » moments.
OK — been on this thing for maybe five months now and it’s stuck on my phone, reckon I’d chuck my thoughts in since a mate asked me last week. I’m in the UK, generally stick to footie and the horses, nothing mad, so take it how you like.
How I found it was honestly embarrassing — I could never get my head round what an ew return actually came to when the place terms changed. Basically I’d wing it and then be surprised. These days I stick my stake in before I place anything, even a simple single bet.
Their single bet calculator is the one I use most — you put in your stake, the odds and you get the return instantly, either odds format. It also handles the multiples — doubles and trebles returns, lucky 15s, a yankee, and that’s where I always got it wrong. If you fancy a poke about, it’s here each way bet calculator — free, no signup.
One thing that actually changed how I bet was the geekier tools. There’s an implied probability thing which shows you how much the bookie’s taking, plus a kelly criterion tool — I stick to fractional kelly as the full version is terrifying. Dutching calculator gets used a fair bit if I’m splitting a race.
Not all sunshine though. Its design looks pretty plain — not much flash, looks like it was built by someone who cares more about maths than colours. On mobile it’s usable although the acca grid need a bit of scrolling. And nothing on the app store, it’s browser only — fine by me just flagging it.
Anyway. Costs nowt, no ads shoved in your face, does what it says. If anyone honestly works out returns on a calculator app, try it — saved me a fair few dumb bets I’d have regretted.
