Étiqueté : single bet calculator
So — been on this thing for something like five months now and it’s basically bookmarked at this point, so thought I’d write something up since a lad on another thread asked me a few days back. Am in the UK, mainly stick to footie and the horses, a fiver here and there, for context.
The reason I started using it was genuinely embarrassing — I couldn’t ever get my head round what an ew payout actually was once you get five places instead of three. Basically I’d eyeball it and get a shock. These days I stick my stake in before I place anything, even a straight one-selection punt.
Their single bet calculator tool is the part I use most — you put in stake and odds and it shows the return instantly, fractional or decimal, doesn’t matter. Same tool covers the bigger stuff — doubles and trebles maths, lucky 15 and lucky 63, patents and yankees, and that’s where I always lose track. If you fancy a poke about, it’s here kelly criterion calculator and there’s no login wall, which I appreciated.
The thing that really changed how I bet was the geekier tools. The implied probability calculator that shows how much the bookie’s taking, and there’s the kelly staking calculator — I stick to fractional kelly since full stakes are far too aggressive. The dutching one gets used a fair bit if I’m spreading across selections.
Not all sunshine though. Its design looks a bit basic — no polish, which honestly I don’t mind but some will. On mobile it works although the acca grid make you pinch and zoom. And nothing on the app store, just the site — slight shame just flagging it.
Anyway. Doesn’t cost anything, barely any ads, does what it says. If you honestly adds it up in their head, have a look — it’s saved me a fair few dumb bets I’d have regretted.
So — been using this thing for about a few months now and it’s stuck on my phone, reckon I’d chuck my thoughts in since a lad on another thread asked me last week. Am UK based, generally stick to footie and the horses, nothing mad, just so you know where I’m coming from.
What got me on it was honestly a bit daft — I could never work out what an ew payout actually was with 1/5 odds a place. I’d just wing it and get a shock. Now punch the numbers in before every slip, even a straight one-selection punt.
The single bet calculator is the part I open most — type in the price and your stake and you get profit and total return instantly, fractional or decimal, doesn’t matter. Same tool covers the multiples — acca and treble returns, lucky 15 and lucky 63, patents and yankees, honestly that’s where I’d always lose track. If you want a look, it’s here how to calculate each way bet and it’s free with no account nonsense.
What genuinely made a difference is the geekier tools. They’ve got an probability calculator and it makes obvious what margin’s baked in, plus a kelly calculator — I stick to fractional kelly since full stakes are terrifying. The dutch tool gets used a fair bit when I’m splitting a race.
It’s not perfect mind. The interface looks pretty plain — not much flash, looks like it was built by someone who cares more about maths than colours. On mobile it’s usable though the acca grid make you pinch and zoom. And no app, just the site — fine by me just flagging it.
Anyway. Doesn’t cost anything, barely any ads, does what it says. If you still works out returns on a calculator app, try it — it’s saved me a fair few arguments with the bookie.
