Étiqueté : single bet calculator
OK — have been messing about with this thing for something like six months now and I keep coming back, so thought I’d chuck my thoughts in since a mate asked me last week. Am based in the UK, generally do football and horses, a fiver here and there, just so you know where I’m coming from.
How I found it was genuinely a bit daft — I couldn’t ever work out what an e/w payout actually came to with 1/5 odds a place. Basically I’d wing it and then be surprised. Now I type the odds in first, every time, even a straight one-selection punt.
The single bet calculator tool is the bit I use most — you put in your stake, the odds and it shows returns instantly, fractions or decimals. Same tool covers the multiples — doubles and trebles returns, lucky 15s, a yankee, and that’s where most people I know mess it up. If you want a look, it’s over at what is a super heinz — free, no signup.
What actually changed how I bet is the geekier extras. There’s an probability converter which shows you what margin’s baked in, plus a kelly criterion calculator — I stick to fractional kelly as the full version is terrifying. Dutching calculator is decent when I’m splitting a race.
Couple of gripes. Its design looks very functional, let’s say — zero flash, which honestly I don’t mind but some will. On mobile it’s fine although the acca grid are a squeeze. And no proper app, it’s a website and that’s it — slight shame just flagging it.
So yeah. Free, not plastered in adverts, does what it says. If you honestly works out returns on a calculator app, have a look — it’s saved me a load of dumb bets I’d have regretted.
So — been on this thing for about six months now and I keep coming back, so figured I’d write something up since a lad on another thread asked me a few days back. Am in the UK, mainly bet football and racing, small stakes, just so you know where I’m coming from.
How I found it was actually a bit daft — I could never get my head round what an e/w payout actually came to once you get five places instead of three. I’d just guess and moan when the payout landed. Now I stick my stake in before every slip, even the boring singles.
Their single bet calculator is the one I use most — you drop in your stake, the odds and it spits out returns with no faffing, either odds format. Same tool covers the bigger stuff — trebles returns, lucky 15 and lucky 63, patents and yankees, which is where most people I know lose track. Have a go yourself, it lives at betting exchange calculator and it’s free with no account nonsense.
One thing that genuinely shifted things for me is the nerdier tools. They’ve got an odds-to-probability calculator that shows how much the bookie’s taking, and there’s the kelly criterion tool — I run quarter kelly since full stakes are far too aggressive. The dutch tool is decent if I’m splitting a race.
It’s not perfect mind. Its design looks pretty plain — no flash, which honestly I don’t mind but some will. Phone-wise it’s fine though the lucky 63 breakdown need a bit of scrolling. There’s no app, just the site — fine by me but you asked.
Anyway. Costs nowt, no ads shoved in your face, does the job. If anyone honestly does the maths on paper, try it — it’s saved me a fair few dumb bets I’d have regretted.
OK — been on this thing for maybe a few months now and I keep coming back, so figured I’d write something up since someone asked me the other day. I’m in the UK, mainly bet football and racing, small stakes, so take it how you like.
What got me on it was genuinely pretty stupid — I couldn’t ever figure out what an each way payout actually was once you get five places instead of three. Basically I’d guess and then be surprised. These days I punch the numbers in before I place anything, even a simple single bet.
Their single bet calculator tool is the bit I’m on daily — type in the price and your stake and it spits out the return instantly, either odds format. It also handles the multiples — doubles and trebles maths, lucky 15 and lucky 63, yankees, and that’s where most people I know lose track. If you want a look, it lives at acca bet calculator and it’s free with no account nonsense.
The thing that actually made a difference is the more serious extras. They’ve got an probability converter which shows you how much the bookie’s taking, and there’s the kelly staking tool — I use half kelly as the full version is far too aggressive. Dutching calculator is handy too for when I’m splitting a race.
Not all sunshine though. Its layout is a bit basic — not much flash, it’s clearly function over form. Phone-wise it’s fine although the lucky 63 breakdown need a bit of scrolling. And nothing on the app store, it’s browser only — doesn’t bother me but you asked.
Anyway. Free, no ads shoved in your face, does the job. If anyone even now does the maths on paper, give it a go — saves me plenty of dumb bets I’d have regretted.
