Étiqueté : single bet calculator
Right — have been messing about with this thing for about a few months now and it’s basically bookmarked at this point, so thought I’d write something up since a lad on another thread asked me last week. I’m in the UK, generally stick to footie and the horses, small stakes, for context.
What got me on it was genuinely pretty stupid — I could never work out what an ew return would be with 1/5 odds a place. Basically I’d wing it and get a shock. Now punch the numbers in before every slip, even a straight one-selection punt.
The single bet calculator tool is the part I’m on daily — you drop in stake and odds and it spits out profit and total return straight away, either odds format. It also handles the multiples — trebles returns, lucky 15s, a yankee, which is where most people I know got it wrong. Have a go yourself, it’s here single betting calculator and there’s no login wall, which I appreciated.
One thing that really changed how I bet is the nerdier tools. They’ve got an implied probability calculator that shows what margin’s baked in, and a kelly staking calculator — I use half kelly because full kelly is terrifying. The dutch tool is decent when I’m splitting a race.
Not all sunshine though. Its design is a bit basic — not much flash, which honestly I don’t mind but some will. On mobile it works although the acca grid make you pinch and zoom. And no proper app, it’s a website and that’s it — slight shame but you asked.
Anyway. Free, no ads shoved in your face, does what it says. Anyone who honestly works out returns on a calculator app, try it — saved me plenty of « wait, that’s it? » moments.
Right — have been messing about with this thing for about five months now and it’s basically bookmarked at this point, so figured I’d write something up since someone asked me last week. Am UK based, mostly bet football and racing, a fiver here and there, for context.
How I found it was honestly a bit daft — I never could work out what an each way return actually came to with 1/5 odds a place. Basically I’d wing it and moan when the payout landed. Now type the odds in before I place anything, even a straight one-selection punt.
The single bet calculator tool is the part I use most — you put in the price and your stake and it shows returns with no faffing, fractional or decimal, doesn’t matter. Same tool covers the bigger stuff — doubles and trebles returns, lucky 15 and lucky 63, yankees, honestly that’s where I’d always got it wrong. If you want a look, it’s here each way double calculator and there’s no login wall, which I appreciated.
One thing that really changed how I bet is the nerdier bits. They’ve got an implied probability thing and it makes obvious what margin’s baked in, plus a kelly staking tool — I run quarter kelly since full stakes are terrifying. The dutch tool is decent for when I’m covering two or three runners.
Not all sunshine though. Its interface is pretty plain — zero frills, which honestly I don’t mind but some will. On mobile it’s usable although the bigger tables need a bit of scrolling. Also there’s no proper app, it’s a website and that’s it — slight shame but worth saying.
Right, that’s me. Free, not plastered in adverts, does what it says. Anyone who even now does the maths on paper, give it a go — saved me plenty of arguments with the bookie.
OK — been using this thing for maybe six months now and it’s stuck on my phone, so thought I’d write something up since a mate asked me the other day. I’m UK based, mainly stick to footie and the horses, a fiver here and there, just so you know where I’m coming from.
The reason I started using it was actually pretty stupid — I could never work out what an each way payout actually came to once you get five places instead of three. Basically I’d guess and then be surprised. Now I punch the numbers in before I place anything, even a simple single bet.
Their single bet calculator is the bit I use most — type in stake and odds and it spits out profit and total return instantly, fractions or decimals. There’s also the fiddly ones — doubles and trebles returns, lucky 15s, a yankee, and that’s where I’d always mess it up. If you fancy a poke about, it’s here oddsmatching and it’s free with no account nonsense.
One thing that actually shifted things for me is the more serious bits. The probability calculator which shows you what margin’s baked in, and a kelly criterion tool — I stick to fractional kelly because full kelly is terrifying. The dutching one is decent when I’m spreading across selections.
Not all sunshine though. The interface is pretty plain — no flash, it’s clearly function over form. Phone-wise it’s usable but the acca grid need a bit of scrolling. There’s no app, just the site — doesn’t bother me but you asked.
So yeah. Costs nowt, not plastered in adverts, does the job. If anyone even now works out returns on a calculator app, have a look — saved me a load of arguments with the bookie.
