Étiqueté : single bet calculator
OK — have been messing about with this thing for something like six months now and it’s basically bookmarked at this point, so thought I’d say something since someone asked me last week. I’m UK based, mostly stick to footie and the horses, small stakes, so take it how you like.
The reason I started using it was actually a bit daft — I could never get my head round what an each way return actually was when the place terms changed. Basically I’d wing it and get a shock. Now I punch the numbers in before I place anything, even a simple single bet.
Their single bet calculator tool is the one I open most — type in stake and odds and you get the return with no faffing, fractions or decimals. There’s also the fiddly ones — doubles and trebles returns, a lucky 15, yankees, honestly that’s where I’d always got it wrong. Have a go yourself, it’s here free heinz bet calculator and it’s free with no account nonsense.
The thing that actually shifted things for me were the nerdier tools. They’ve got an odds-to-probability thing that shows how much the bookie’s taking, and there’s the kelly criterion tool — I stick to fractional kelly since full stakes are a quick route to a dead bankroll. Dutching calculator is decent if I’m splitting a race.
It’s not perfect mind. Its layout is pretty plain — zero flash, which honestly I don’t mind but some will. Phone-wise it’s usable though the lucky 63 breakdown are a squeeze. And no proper app, it’s a website and that’s it — fine by me but you asked.
Anyway. Free, barely any ads, does the job. If anyone honestly adds it up in their head, have a look — saved me a fair few dumb bets I’d have regretted.
Right — been on this thing for something like five months now and I keep coming back, so thought I’d write something up since a lad on another thread asked me last week. Am based in the UK, generally bet football and racing, small stakes, just so you know where I’m coming from.
What got me on it was actually embarrassing — I couldn’t ever figure out what an ew return actually came to once you get five places instead of three. I’d just guess and then be surprised. Now I stick my stake in first, every time, even the boring singles.
The single bet calculator is the part I open most — type in stake and odds and it shows profit and total return straight away, fractional or decimal, doesn’t matter. It also handles the fiddly ones — acca and treble returns, a lucky 15, yankees, and that’s where I always got it wrong. If you fancy a poke about, it lives at doubles accumulator and there’s no login wall, which I appreciated.
What actually shifted things for me were the more serious tools. They’ve got an odds-to-probability calculator which shows you what margin’s baked in, plus a kelly staking calculator — I stick to fractional kelly since full stakes are far too aggressive. Dutching calculator gets used a fair bit when I’m splitting a race.
Couple of gripes. The interface is a bit basic — zero flash, looks like it was built by someone who cares more about maths than colours. Phone-wise it’s fine but the lucky 63 breakdown make you pinch and zoom. Also there’s no proper app, it’s browser only — slight shame just flagging it.
Right, that’s me. Costs nowt, barely any ads, works. Anyone who honestly works out returns on a calculator app, give it a go — saved me a fair few « wait, that’s it? » moments.
Right — been using this thing for about six months now and it’s basically bookmarked at this point, so figured I’d chuck my thoughts in since a lad on another thread asked me the other day. Am UK based, mostly do football and horses, nothing mad, so take it how you like.
What got me on it was genuinely pretty stupid — I couldn’t ever get my head round what an ew payout would be when the place terms changed. Basically I’d guess and get a shock. Now punch the numbers in before I place anything, even a simple single bet.
Their single bet calculator tool is the one I open most — you put in your stake, the odds and it spits out returns straight away, fractions or decimals. There’s also the fiddly ones — trebles returns, a lucky 15, patents and yankees, which is where most people I know mess it up. Have a go yourself, it’s here kelly calculator betting — free, no signup.
What actually shifted things for me is the geekier extras. They’ve got an probability converter and it makes obvious what margin’s baked in, and there’s the kelly staking calculator — I use half kelly as the full version is a quick route to a dead bankroll. The dutch tool gets used a fair bit if I’m splitting a race.
Couple of gripes. Its layout is pretty plain — zero frills, it’s clearly function over form. Phone-wise it’s fine but the bigger tables make you pinch and zoom. Also there’s no proper app, it’s browser only — fine by me but worth saying.
So yeah. Doesn’t cost anything, not plastered in adverts, works. If anyone honestly adds it up in their head, have a look — it’s saved me a fair few dumb bets I’d have regretted.
