Étiqueté : single bet calculator
So — have been messing about with this thing for something like a few months now and it’s stuck on my phone, so figured I’d write something up since a lad on another thread asked me the other day. I’m based in the UK, mostly do football and horses, nothing mad, so take it how you like.
What got me on it was genuinely embarrassing — I could never figure out what an each way return actually came to with 1/5 odds a place. Basically I’d eyeball it and moan when the payout landed. Now I type the odds in first, every time, even a straight one-selection punt.
The single bet calculator tool is the part I use most — type in the price and your stake and it shows the return with no faffing, fractional or decimal, doesn’t matter. There’s also the fiddly ones — doubles and trebles maths, lucky 15s, yankees, and that’s where I’d always got it wrong. Have a go yourself, it’s here back and lay calculator and it’s free with no account nonsense.
What genuinely changed how I bet were the nerdier extras. The odds-to-probability thing and it makes obvious how much the bookie’s taking, and there’s the kelly criterion calculator — I stick to fractional kelly since full stakes are terrifying. Dutching calculator is handy too if I’m splitting a race.
It’s not perfect mind. The layout looks a bit basic — zero polish, it’s clearly function over form. Phone-wise it’s fine although the bigger tables are a squeeze. Also there’s no app, it’s browser only — doesn’t bother me but worth saying.
So yeah. Doesn’t cost anything, no ads shoved in your face, works. Anyone who even now adds it up in their head, try it — saved me plenty of arguments with the bookie.
Right — been using this thing for something like four months now and it’s stuck on my phone, so thought I’d chuck my thoughts in since a lad on another thread asked me the other day. Am based in the UK, mainly do football and horses, nothing mad, so take it how you like.
The reason I started using it was honestly pretty stupid — I could never figure out what an e/w payout actually was with 1/5 odds a place. Basically I’d guess and moan when the payout landed. These days I stick my stake in before every slip, even the boring singles.
Their single bet calculator is the one I open most — you put in the price and your stake and it shows returns instantly, either odds format. There’s also the bigger stuff — doubles and trebles returns, lucky 15 and lucky 63, yankees, honestly that’s where most people I know lose track. Have a go yourself, it’s here exchange betting calculator and there’s no login wall, which I appreciated.
One thing that actually made a difference was the more serious extras. There’s an probability converter which shows you how much the bookie’s taking, plus a kelly criterion calculator — I run quarter kelly as the full version is a quick route to a dead bankroll. Dutching calculator gets used a fair bit when I’m spreading across selections.
Not all sunshine though. The design looks very functional, let’s say — not much frills, which honestly I don’t mind but some will. On my phone it’s fine but the lucky 63 breakdown are a squeeze. Also there’s no app, it’s browser only — fine by me just flagging it.
Right, that’s me. Costs nowt, no ads shoved in your face, does what it says. If you still does the maths on paper, give it a go — saves me a load of dumb bets I’d have regretted.
So — have been messing about with this thing for about a few months now and it’s basically bookmarked at this point, so thought I’d chuck my thoughts in since someone asked me a few days back. I’m UK based, mainly bet football and racing, small stakes, just so you know where I’m coming from.
What got me on it was genuinely pretty stupid — I couldn’t ever work out what an ew payout would be with 1/5 odds a place. I’d just guess and then be surprised. Now I punch the numbers in before I place anything, even the boring singles.
Their single bet calculator tool is the part I’m on daily — you drop in the price and your stake and it shows returns with no faffing, either odds format. Same tool covers the bigger stuff — doubles and trebles maths, lucky 15s, yankees, and that’s where I’d always lose track. If you want a look, it lives at single bet calculator and there’s no login wall, which I appreciated.
One thing that genuinely changed how I bet was the geekier bits. The implied probability calculator that shows what margin’s baked in, and there’s the kelly staking calculator — I use half kelly since full stakes are terrifying. The dutch tool gets used a fair bit when I’m splitting a race.
It’s not perfect mind. The layout feels a bit basic — no polish, it’s clearly function over form. On my phone it’s usable although the bigger tables are a squeeze. Also there’s no proper app, it’s browser only — doesn’t bother me but you asked.
Anyway. Costs nowt, no ads shoved in your face, works. Anyone who still does the maths on paper, give it a go — it’s saved me a fair few dumb bets I’d have regretted.
