Étiqueté : single bet calculator
OK — been using this thing for maybe a few months now and I keep coming back, so figured I’d chuck my thoughts in since a lad on another thread asked me last week. Am based in the UK, mainly do football and horses, nothing mad, for context.
How I found it was honestly a bit daft — I couldn’t ever figure out what an ew return actually came to when the place terms changed. I’d just eyeball it and moan when the payout landed. Now I type the odds in before I place anything, even the boring singles.
The single bet calculator tool is the part I’m on daily — type in the price and your stake and it spits out the return straight away, fractions or decimals. There’s also the fiddly ones — doubles and trebles maths, lucky 15 and lucky 63, a yankee, honestly that’s where most people I know mess it up. If you want a look, it lives at lucky 63 calculator and it’s free with no account nonsense.
What genuinely changed how I bet were the geekier extras. They’ve got an probability thing that shows what margin’s baked in, and a kelly criterion tool — I use half kelly because full kelly is far too aggressive. Dutching calculator gets used a fair bit when I’m covering two or three runners.
Couple of gripes. Its design is pretty plain — zero frills, which honestly I don’t mind but some will. Phone-wise it works although the acca grid make you pinch and zoom. There’s no proper app, it’s a website and that’s it — slight shame but worth saying.
Anyway. Costs nowt, barely any ads, works. If anyone still does the maths on paper, have a look — saved me a fair few dumb bets I’d have regretted.
Right — been on this thing for maybe six months now and it’s basically bookmarked at this point, reckon I’d write something up since a lad on another thread asked me a few days back. I’m in the UK, mostly stick to footie and the horses, a fiver here and there, for context.
How I found it was honestly embarrassing — I never could get my head round what an each way return would be when the place terms changed. I used to just guess and moan when the payout landed. These days I punch the numbers in first, every time, even a simple single bet.
Their single bet calculator is the bit I’m on daily — type in your stake, the odds and it shows profit and total return instantly, fractional or decimal, doesn’t matter. Same tool covers the fiddly ones — trebles maths, lucky 15 and lucky 63, a yankee, honestly that’s where I’d always got it wrong. If you want a look, it’s over at work out each way bet — free, no signup.
The thing that genuinely shifted things for me is the geekier extras. They’ve got an implied probability thing that shows how much the bookie’s taking, and there’s the kelly criterion calculator — I stick to fractional kelly because full kelly is a quick route to a dead bankroll. The dutch tool is handy too if I’m splitting a race.
Couple of gripes. The interface is a bit basic — zero polish, looks like it was built by someone who cares more about maths than colours. Phone-wise it’s usable though the acca grid need a bit of scrolling. Also there’s no app, just the site — slight shame but you asked.
So yeah. Free, not plastered in adverts, does what it says. Anyone who still works out returns on a calculator app, have a look — saved me a load of dumb bets I’d have regretted.
Right — been on this thing for something like five months now and it’s stuck on my phone, so figured I’d write something up since a lad on another thread asked me the other day. I’m in the UK, mainly stick to footie and the horses, a fiver here and there, for context.
The reason I started using it was actually pretty stupid — I couldn’t ever figure out what an ew payout actually was once you get five places instead of three. I’d just eyeball it and then be surprised. Now punch the numbers in first, every time, even a simple single bet.
The single bet calculator is the part I open most — you drop in stake and odds and it spits out returns instantly, either odds format. Same tool covers the multiples — trebles returns, a lucky 15, patents and yankees, which is where I always mess it up. If you fancy a poke about, it’s over at each way odds — free, no signup.
What genuinely changed how I bet were the more serious tools. There’s an odds-to-probability calculator and it makes obvious what margin’s baked in, and there’s the kelly staking calculator — I run quarter kelly as the full version is far too aggressive. Dutching calculator is handy too when I’m splitting a race.
Not all sunshine though. Its design feels pretty plain — no frills, looks like it was built by someone who cares more about maths than colours. On mobile it’s fine although the acca grid are a squeeze. Also there’s no app, just the site — fine by me but worth saying.
Anyway. Free, barely any ads, does the job. Anyone who even now works out returns on a calculator app, give it a go — saved me plenty of dumb bets I’d have regretted.
