Étiqueté : single bet calculator
So — have been messing about with this thing for something like five months now and it’s stuck on my phone, so thought I’d chuck my thoughts in since someone asked me a few days back. I’m UK based, mainly stick to footie and the horses, nothing mad, for context.
How I found it was genuinely embarrassing — I could never work out what an each way return would be with 1/5 odds a place. Basically I’d wing it and moan when the payout landed. Now I type the odds in before I place anything, even a simple single bet.
The single bet calculator is the one I use most — you drop in stake and odds and you get profit and total return instantly, fractions or decimals. Same tool covers the fiddly ones — acca and treble returns, lucky 15 and lucky 63, patents and yankees, honestly that’s where I’d always lose track. If you want a look, it lives at single odds calculator — free, no signup.
What actually made a difference was the nerdier tools. The implied probability converter that shows the overround, plus a kelly tool — I run quarter kelly as the full version is far too aggressive. The dutch tool is handy too for when I’m spreading across selections.
Couple of gripes. Its interface feels a bit basic — zero flash, looks like it was built by someone who cares more about maths than colours. On mobile it’s fine though the lucky 63 breakdown need a bit of scrolling. Also there’s no proper app, it’s browser only — fine by me but you asked.
Right, that’s me. Doesn’t cost anything, not plastered in adverts, does the job. If anyone even now adds it up in their head, try it — saved me a fair few arguments with the bookie.
So — have been messing about with this thing for something like six months now and it’s basically bookmarked at this point, so thought I’d say something since a lad on another thread asked me the other day. I’m in the UK, generally do football and horses, nothing mad, so take it how you like.
What got me on it was actually a bit daft — I couldn’t ever get my head round what an ew return actually came to when the place terms changed. Basically I’d wing it and moan when the payout landed. Now type the odds in before I place anything, even the boring singles.
Their single bet calculator is the bit I’m on daily — you put in the price and your stake and you get profit and total return straight away, fractions or decimals. It also handles the bigger stuff — doubles and trebles returns, lucky 15 and lucky 63, yankees, which is where I’d always got it wrong. Have a go yourself, it lives at bet calculator trixie and there’s no login wall, which I appreciated.
The thing that really shifted things for me is the nerdier tools. They’ve got an implied probability thing which shows you the overround, plus a kelly tool — I use half kelly since full stakes are terrifying. Dutching calculator gets used a fair bit when I’m covering two or three runners.
Not all sunshine though. The design looks very functional, let’s say — zero frills, which honestly I don’t mind but some will. On my phone it works though the acca grid need a bit of scrolling. And nothing on the app store, it’s browser only — slight shame but worth saying.
So yeah. Costs nowt, not plastered in adverts, does the job. If anyone honestly works out returns on a calculator app, give it a go — saved me a fair few « wait, that’s it? » moments.
Right — been using this thing for about a few months now and it’s basically bookmarked at this point, so figured I’d write something up since a mate asked me a few days back. I’m in the UK, generally bet football and racing, nothing mad, for context.
How I found it was genuinely a bit daft — I never could work out what an e/w payout would be with 1/5 odds a place. I’d just guess and moan when the payout landed. These days I punch the numbers in first, every time, even a simple single bet.
The single bet calculator is the one I use most — you put in the price and your stake and it spits out profit and total return instantly, fractions or decimals. There’s also the bigger stuff — acca and treble returns, a lucky 15, yankees, honestly that’s where most people I know got it wrong. Have a go yourself, it’s over at matched bet calculator and it’s free with no account nonsense.
The thing that genuinely changed how I bet were the more serious tools. There’s an odds-to-probability thing and it makes obvious the overround, and there’s the kelly criterion tool — I run quarter kelly as the full version is far too aggressive. Dutching calculator gets used a fair bit if I’m spreading across selections.
It’s not perfect mind. Its interface is very functional, let’s say — zero flash, which honestly I don’t mind but some will. On mobile it’s usable but the bigger tables are a squeeze. And nothing on the app store, just the site — slight shame but worth saying.
So yeah. Costs nowt, no ads shoved in your face, does the job. If you even now works out returns on a calculator app, try it — saves me a load of arguments with the bookie.
