Étiqueté : single bet calculator
Right — been using this thing for something like five months now and it’s basically bookmarked at this point, so figured I’d write something up since someone asked me the other day. Am UK based, mostly stick to footie and the horses, a fiver here and there, for context.
The reason I started using it was honestly a bit daft — I couldn’t ever work out what an each way payout actually was once you get five places instead of three. I used to just wing it and then be surprised. Now I punch the numbers in first, every time, even a simple single bet.
The single bet calculator tool is the part I use most — you drop in stake and odds and it spits out returns with no faffing, fractions or decimals. It also handles the bigger stuff — trebles returns, lucky 15s, patents and yankees, which is where I’d always got it wrong. If you want a look, it lives at calculate lucky 15 bet and there’s no login wall, which I appreciated.
What actually changed how I bet was the geekier bits. The odds-to-probability calculator which shows you what margin’s baked in, plus a kelly tool — I run quarter kelly because full kelly is far too aggressive. The dutch tool is handy too if I’m splitting a race.
Couple of gripes. Its layout feels pretty plain — not much flash, it’s clearly function over form. Phone-wise it’s fine though the bigger tables are a squeeze. Also there’s no app, it’s browser only — doesn’t bother me just flagging it.
So yeah. Doesn’t cost anything, not plastered in adverts, does the job. If anyone honestly works out returns on a calculator app, try it — saves me a fair few arguments with the bookie.
OK — have been messing about with this thing for something like a few months now and it’s stuck on my phone, reckon I’d write something up since a lad on another thread asked me last week. I’m UK based, mostly bet football and racing, small stakes, for context.
What got me on it was actually embarrassing — I never could figure out what an e/w return actually came to with 1/5 odds a place. I used to just eyeball it and get a shock. Now I punch the numbers in before I place anything, even a simple single bet.
Their single bet calculator is the bit I’m on daily — you drop in stake and odds and it shows the return straight away, fractions or decimals. Same tool covers the multiples — acca and treble returns, lucky 15s, patents and yankees, and that’s where I always mess it up. If you fancy a poke about, it’s here calculator dutching and it’s free with no account nonsense.
One thing that really made a difference were the geekier extras. There’s an implied probability calculator and it makes obvious how much the bookie’s taking, and there’s the kelly criterion calculator — I use half kelly because full kelly is a quick route to a dead bankroll. The dutch tool is handy too if I’m splitting a race.
Not all sunshine though. Its layout is pretty plain — not much flash, which honestly I don’t mind but some will. On my phone it works but the lucky 63 breakdown make you pinch and zoom. And nothing on the app store, it’s a website and that’s it — doesn’t bother me but worth saying.
Anyway. Doesn’t cost anything, not plastered in adverts, works. If anyone still adds it up in their head, give it a go — it’s saved me plenty of « wait, that’s it? » moments.
So — been on this thing for about five months now and I keep coming back, so figured I’d chuck my thoughts in since someone asked me a few days back. Am in the UK, generally do football and horses, a fiver here and there, just so you know where I’m coming from.
The reason I started using it was genuinely a bit daft — I could never get my head round what an each way payout actually was once you get five places instead of three. Basically I’d eyeball it and then be surprised. Now stick my stake in before every slip, even a straight one-selection punt.

The thing that actually made a difference is the geekier bits. They’ve got an odds-to-probability thing which shows you the overround, and there’s the kelly staking calculator — I use half kelly since full stakes are a quick route to a dead bankroll. Dutching calculator is decent when I’m covering two or three runners.
Couple of gripes. Its design feels very functional, let’s say — not much frills, which honestly I don’t mind but some will. On my phone it’s fine but the bigger tables need a bit of scrolling. Also there’s no app, it’s browser only — slight shame but worth saying.
So yeah. Costs nowt, barely any ads, does the job. If anyone even now works out returns on a calculator app, give it a go — saves me a load of arguments with the bookie.
