Étiqueté : single bet calculator
OK — have been messing about with this thing for maybe four months now and it’s stuck on my phone, so figured I’d write something up since a mate asked me last week. I’m UK based, generally stick to footie and the horses, nothing mad, for context.
How I found it was honestly embarrassing — I could never figure out what an e/w payout would be when the place terms changed. Basically I’d eyeball it and get a shock. These days I punch the numbers in before every slip, even a simple single bet.
Their single bet calculator tool is the part I’m on daily — type in stake and odds and it shows profit and total return instantly, either odds format. Same tool covers the multiples — trebles maths, lucky 15 and lucky 63, a yankee, honestly that’s where I’d always mess it up. If you fancy a poke about, it’s over at treble calculator and there’s no login wall, which I appreciated.
The thing that actually made a difference were the geekier extras. The odds-to-probability thing which shows you what margin’s baked in, plus a kelly criterion calculator — I run quarter kelly because full kelly is a quick route to a dead bankroll. The dutching one gets used a fair bit for when I’m spreading across selections.
Not all sunshine though. The layout is a bit basic — not much frills, looks like it was built by someone who cares more about maths than colours. On my phone it’s fine although the lucky 63 breakdown make you pinch and zoom. Also there’s no app, it’s a website and that’s it — fine by me just flagging it.
Right, that’s me. Doesn’t cost anything, no ads shoved in your face, does the job. If anyone honestly adds it up in their head, have a look — saved me a fair few « wait, that’s it? » moments.
OK — been using this thing for about five months now and I keep coming back, so thought I’d say something since someone asked me last week. Am based in the UK, mainly do football and horses, a fiver here and there, just so you know where I’m coming from.
What got me on it was genuinely pretty stupid — I never could figure out what an ew return would be once you get five places instead of three. Basically I’d eyeball it and then be surprised. Now I punch the numbers in first, every time, even the boring singles.
Their single bet calculator is the one I open most — you put in the price and your stake and it spits out profit and total return instantly, either odds format. Same tool covers the bigger stuff — acca and treble maths, lucky 15 and lucky 63, a yankee, which is where most people I know got it wrong. Have a go yourself, it’s over at super yankee bet calculator — free, no signup.
What genuinely changed how I bet was the nerdier extras. The implied probability thing that shows how much the bookie’s taking, plus a kelly calculator — I run quarter kelly because full kelly is far too aggressive. Dutching calculator is handy too for when I’m spreading across selections.
Not all sunshine though. Its interface feels pretty plain — zero frills, it’s clearly function over form. On my phone it’s usable although the acca grid need a bit of scrolling. Also there’s no proper app, just the site — doesn’t bother me but you asked.
Anyway. Doesn’t cost anything, not plastered in adverts, does what it says. If you honestly adds it up in their head, try it — saves me plenty of « wait, that’s it? » moments.
OK — been using this thing for something like five months now and it’s stuck on my phone, reckon I’d write something up since a lad on another thread asked me the other day. Am in the UK, generally do football and horses, small stakes, just so you know where I’m coming from.
What got me on it was honestly embarrassing — I never could figure out what an e/w payout actually came to with 1/5 odds a place. Basically I’d eyeball it and moan when the payout landed. Now punch the numbers in first, every time, even a simple single bet.
Their single bet calculator is the bit I open most — you put in the price and your stake and you get the return straight away, fractions or decimals. Same tool covers the bigger stuff — doubles and trebles maths, lucky 15 and lucky 63, a yankee, which is where I’d always lose track. Have a go yourself, it lives at free super heinz bet calculator — free, no signup.
The thing that really shifted things for me was the geekier extras. There’s an odds-to-probability converter and it makes obvious what margin’s baked in, and there’s the kelly criterion tool — I run quarter kelly because full kelly is a quick route to a dead bankroll. Dutching calculator gets used a fair bit when I’m covering two or three runners.
Couple of gripes. The design is very functional, let’s say — zero polish, looks like it was built by someone who cares more about maths than colours. On mobile it works but the lucky 63 breakdown make you pinch and zoom. There’s nothing on the app store, it’s browser only — doesn’t bother me but you asked.
Anyway. Free, no ads shoved in your face, works. If anyone even now works out returns on a calculator app, try it — it’s saved me a load of dumb bets I’d have regretted.
