Étiqueté : single bet calculator
OK — been using this thing for about four months now and it’s basically bookmarked at this point, so thought I’d write something up since a lad on another thread asked me a few days back. I’m UK based, mostly do football and horses, nothing mad, for context.
How I found it was actually embarrassing — I never could figure out what an each way return actually was when the place terms changed. Basically I’d eyeball it and then be surprised. Now type the odds in first, every time, even the boring singles.
Their single bet calculator tool is the part I open most — you drop in the price and your stake and it shows returns instantly, either odds format. It also handles the fiddly ones — trebles returns, lucky 15s, patents and yankees, and that’s where I always lose track. If you want a look, it lives at doubles accumulator and it’s free with no account nonsense.
The thing that actually changed how I bet was the more serious extras. They’ve got an probability calculator and it makes obvious the overround, plus a kelly staking calculator — I run quarter kelly because full kelly is terrifying. The dutching one is decent when I’m splitting a race.
Not all sunshine though. Its interface looks very functional, let’s say — zero flash, looks like it was built by someone who cares more about maths than colours. On mobile it’s fine although the bigger tables make you pinch and zoom. And no app, it’s a website and that’s it — fine by me but you asked.
Anyway. Doesn’t cost anything, not plastered in adverts, works. Anyone who still adds it up in their head, give it a go — saves me a fair few « wait, that’s it? » moments.
So — been using this thing for maybe a few months now and it’s basically bookmarked at this point, so thought I’d chuck my thoughts in since someone asked me the other day. I’m in the UK, mostly bet football and racing, a fiver here and there, for context.
The reason I started using it was actually embarrassing — I could never get my head round what an e/w return actually came to when the place terms changed. I’d just wing it and moan when the payout landed. Now I type the odds in before I place anything, even a straight one-selection punt.
Their single bet calculator tool is the bit I’m on daily — you drop in stake and odds and it shows returns instantly, fractional or decimal, doesn’t matter. Same tool covers the bigger stuff — trebles returns, a lucky 15, patents and yankees, and that’s where I’d always got it wrong. If you want a look, it’s over at betting accumulator — free, no signup.
One thing that genuinely changed how I bet is the geekier bits. There’s an odds-to-probability thing that shows what margin’s baked in, and there’s the kelly criterion tool — I run quarter kelly as the full version is far too aggressive. Dutching calculator gets used a fair bit if I’m splitting a race.
Not all sunshine though. Its design looks pretty plain — no flash, which honestly I don’t mind but some will. Phone-wise it works although the acca grid make you pinch and zoom. Also there’s no proper app, it’s browser only — fine by me but worth saying.
So yeah. Costs nowt, not plastered in adverts, does what it says. Anyone who even now does the maths on paper, try it — saved me a load of « wait, that’s it? » moments.
