Étiqueté : single bet calculator
Right — been using this thing for maybe six months now and I keep coming back, reckon I’d write something up since a mate asked me the other day. I’m in the UK, mostly do football and horses, small stakes, so take it how you like.
The reason I started using it was genuinely a bit daft — I couldn’t ever get my head round what an e/w return would be when the place terms changed. I used to just guess and then be surprised. Now stick my stake in before every slip, even a straight one-selection punt.
The single bet calculator is the one I’m on daily — you put in the price and your stake and you get the return straight away, fractions or decimals. It also handles the bigger stuff — acca and treble returns, a lucky 15, yankees, and that’s where I’d always got it wrong. Have a go yourself, it’s over at how many bets in a super heinz and there’s no login wall, which I appreciated.
What really shifted things for me were the nerdier extras. They’ve got an odds-to-probability calculator that shows the overround, plus a kelly staking calculator — I run quarter kelly as the full version is a quick route to a dead bankroll. The dutch tool is handy too for when I’m covering two or three runners.
It’s not perfect mind. The design feels very functional, let’s say — zero frills, it’s clearly function over form. Phone-wise it’s fine although the bigger tables need a bit of scrolling. And nothing on the app store, it’s a website and that’s it — doesn’t bother me just flagging it.
So yeah. Costs nowt, not plastered in adverts, does what it says. If anyone even now adds it up in their head, try it — saves me plenty of dumb bets I’d have regretted.
So — been on this thing for about four months now and it’s basically bookmarked at this point, so figured I’d write something up since a lad on another thread asked me a few days back. Am in the UK, mostly stick to footie and the horses, nothing mad, for context.
The reason I started using it was actually a bit daft — I could never figure out what an e/w return would be with 1/5 odds a place. I’d just wing it and then be surprised. These days I punch the numbers in first, every time, even a simple single bet.
The single bet calculator tool is the one I use most — you put in your stake, the odds and you get the return with no faffing, fractional or decimal, doesn’t matter. It also handles the multiples — trebles returns, lucky 15s, patents and yankees, and that’s where I’d always mess it up. If you fancy a poke about, it lives at kelly betting calculator — free, no signup.
One thing that genuinely made a difference is the nerdier bits. There’s an probability thing which shows you the overround, plus a kelly criterion tool — I run quarter kelly because full kelly is a quick route to a dead bankroll. The dutch tool gets used a fair bit when I’m covering two or three runners.
It’s not perfect mind. Its design looks a bit basic — no polish, it’s clearly function over form. Phone-wise it works but the lucky 63 breakdown are a squeeze. And no app, it’s a website and that’s it — slight shame but you asked.
Anyway. Free, not plastered in adverts, does what it says. Anyone who still works out returns on a calculator app, give it a go — saved me a fair few dumb bets I’d have regretted.
So — been using this thing for maybe a few months now and it’s basically bookmarked at this point, reckon I’d chuck my thoughts in since a lad on another thread asked me last week. I’m in the UK, generally stick to footie and the horses, small stakes, so take it how you like.
How I found it was honestly a bit daft — I could never figure out what an each way payout would be once you get five places instead of three. I used to just eyeball it and get a shock. Now punch the numbers in before I place anything, even the boring singles.
Their single bet calculator is the bit I use most — you put in the price and your stake and it spits out profit and total return instantly, either odds format. There’s also the fiddly ones — doubles and trebles returns, a lucky 15, patents and yankees, and that’s where most people I know lose track. Have a go yourself, it’s here lucky 63 rechner and there’s no login wall, which I appreciated.
The thing that genuinely shifted things for me were the more serious tools. The odds-to-probability calculator which shows you what margin’s baked in, plus a kelly criterion tool — I use half kelly since full stakes are terrifying. The dutching one is handy too for when I’m covering two or three runners.
It’s not perfect mind. The interface feels a bit basic — zero frills, looks like it was built by someone who cares more about maths than colours. Phone-wise it’s fine though the lucky 63 breakdown make you pinch and zoom. There’s nothing on the app store, just the site — fine by me but you asked.
So yeah. Free, barely any ads, works. Anyone who honestly does the maths on paper, try it — it’s saved me plenty of « wait, that’s it? » moments.
