Étiqueté : single bet calculator
OK — been on this thing for something like six months now and I keep coming back, so figured I’d chuck my thoughts in since a lad on another thread asked me a few days back. I’m UK based, mainly bet football and racing, nothing mad, so take it how you like.
What got me on it was honestly a bit daft — I never could get my head round what an ew payout actually came to with 1/5 odds a place. Basically I’d eyeball it and then be surprised. These days I type the odds in before every slip, even a simple single bet.
Their single bet calculator is the bit I open most — you drop in stake and odds and it shows profit and total return instantly, fractional or decimal, doesn’t matter. It also handles the multiples — doubles and trebles returns, a lucky 15, a yankee, which is where I’d always got it wrong. If you want a look, it’s over at sports betting margin calculator and there’s no login wall, which I appreciated.
The thing that really shifted things for me was the geekier tools. They’ve got an probability converter and it makes obvious the overround, and there’s the kelly staking tool — I run quarter kelly as the full version is terrifying. The dutch tool gets used a fair bit when I’m spreading across selections.
Not all sunshine though. Its design feels pretty plain — no frills, it’s clearly function over form. On my phone it’s fine but the bigger tables need a bit of scrolling. And no proper app, it’s a website and that’s it — slight shame but you asked.
Right, that’s me. Costs nowt, not plastered in adverts, works. If anyone even now works out returns on a calculator app, give it a go — it’s saved me plenty of arguments with the bookie.
So — been on this thing for maybe four months now and I keep coming back, reckon I’d say something since someone asked me the other day. I’m UK based, generally bet football and racing, a fiver here and there, just so you know where I’m coming from.
How I found it was genuinely a bit daft — I couldn’t ever work out what an e/w payout actually came to with 1/5 odds a place. I used to just wing it and moan when the payout landed. Now I type the odds in before every slip, even a straight one-selection punt.
Their single bet calculator is the bit I use most — you drop in stake and odds and you get the return instantly, fractions or decimals. It also handles the multiples — doubles and trebles maths, lucky 15 and lucky 63, a yankee, honestly that’s where I’d always mess it up. If you want a look, it’s over at each way calculator and it’s free with no account nonsense.
The thing that really shifted things for me is the more serious extras. There’s an probability thing which shows you what margin’s baked in, and a kelly criterion calculator — I run quarter kelly as the full version is a quick route to a dead bankroll. The dutch tool is handy too when I’m spreading across selections.
Not all sunshine though. The design is pretty plain — zero frills, which honestly I don’t mind but some will. Phone-wise it’s fine but the bigger tables make you pinch and zoom. And no proper app, just the site — fine by me just flagging it.
So yeah. Costs nowt, no ads shoved in your face, does what it says. Anyone who honestly does the maths on paper, give it a go — saves me a load of « wait, that’s it? » moments.
Right — have been messing about with this thing for something like six months now and it’s basically bookmarked at this point, so figured I’d chuck my thoughts in since someone asked me a few days back. I’m in the UK, mostly do football and horses, nothing mad, so take it how you like.
How I found it was actually pretty stupid — I could never work out what an each way return actually was once you get five places instead of three. I used to just wing it and get a shock. These days I punch the numbers in before I place anything, even the boring singles.
Their single bet calculator is the bit I use most — you drop in your stake, the odds and it spits out profit and total return with no faffing, fractions or decimals. There’s also the bigger stuff — doubles and trebles maths, a lucky 15, yankees, which is where I always lose track. If you want a look, it lives at match calculator — free, no signup.
The thing that genuinely changed how I bet were the more serious tools. There’s an probability calculator that shows the overround, and a kelly calculator — I run quarter kelly since full stakes are terrifying. The dutch tool is decent when I’m covering two or three runners.
Couple of gripes. The design is a bit basic — zero flash, looks like it was built by someone who cares more about maths than colours. On mobile it’s usable but the bigger tables need a bit of scrolling. And nothing on the app store, it’s browser only — fine by me just flagging it.
So yeah. Costs nowt, not plastered in adverts, does the job. If anyone honestly works out returns on a calculator app, have a look — saves me a fair few arguments with the bookie.
