Étiqueté : single bet calculator
So — been on this thing for something like four months now and it’s stuck on my phone, so figured I’d chuck my thoughts in since a lad on another thread asked me last week. Am based in the UK, mainly bet football and racing, a fiver here and there, for context.
The reason I started using it was actually a bit daft — I couldn’t ever figure out what an each way payout actually came to once you get five places instead of three. Basically I’d wing it and get a shock. These days I punch the numbers in before I place anything, even the boring singles.
The single bet calculator tool is the bit I open most — you put in your stake, the odds and it spits out profit and total return straight away, either odds format. There’s also the bigger stuff — acca and treble returns, lucky 15 and lucky 63, yankees, which is where I always mess it up. If you want a look, it’s over at kelly criterion odds calculator and it’s free with no account nonsense.
The thing that genuinely made a difference were the geekier extras. They’ve got an probability converter that shows how much the bookie’s taking, plus a kelly staking calculator — I use half kelly because full kelly is a quick route to a dead bankroll. The dutch tool is decent if I’m covering two or three runners.
It’s not perfect mind. The design is very functional, let’s say — no frills, it’s clearly function over form. On my phone it’s fine although the acca grid make you pinch and zoom. Also there’s no proper app, it’s a website and that’s it — fine by me but you asked.
Right, that’s me. Doesn’t cost anything, not plastered in adverts, does what it says. Anyone who even now adds it up in their head, have a look — saved me plenty of arguments with the bookie.
Right — been using this thing for maybe four months now and I keep coming back, reckon I’d say something since someone asked me last week. I’m UK based, mainly bet football and racing, small stakes, for context.
What got me on it was actually a bit daft — I never could figure out what an ew return actually was when the place terms changed. I used to just guess and get a shock. Now I punch the numbers in before I place anything, even a simple single bet.
Their single bet calculator tool is the part I use most — you put in the price and your stake and it shows profit and total return instantly, either odds format. Same tool covers the fiddly ones — doubles and trebles maths, lucky 15s, a yankee, which is where most people I know lose track. Have a go yourself, it’s here ladbrokes lucky 15 calculator and there’s no login wall, which I appreciated.
One thing that genuinely shifted things for me was the nerdier extras. They’ve got an odds-to-probability calculator which shows you how much the bookie’s taking, and there’s the kelly tool — I stick to fractional kelly as the full version is far too aggressive. Dutching calculator gets used a fair bit for when I’m spreading across selections.
Not all sunshine though. Its design is a bit basic — no flash, it’s clearly function over form. On mobile it’s fine but the bigger tables make you pinch and zoom. And nothing on the app store, it’s browser only — slight shame but you asked.
Right, that’s me. Free, not plastered in adverts, does the job. If you honestly adds it up in their head, give it a go — it’s saved me a fair few arguments with the bookie.
So — been using this thing for maybe four months now and it’s basically bookmarked at this point, so figured I’d write something up since a lad on another thread asked me last week. Am UK based, generally stick to footie and the horses, a fiver here and there, so take it how you like.
How I found it was actually a bit daft — I never could figure out what an e/w return actually came to once you get five places instead of three. I used to just wing it and get a shock. Now I stick my stake in first, every time, even a straight one-selection punt.
Their single bet calculator tool is the bit I open most — type in stake and odds and it shows profit and total return straight away, fractional or decimal, doesn’t matter. There’s also the multiples — trebles returns, a lucky 15, yankees, which is where I always got it wrong. Have a go yourself, it’s here treble bet — free, no signup.
The thing that really shifted things for me were the nerdier bits. The probability thing which shows you what margin’s baked in, and a kelly criterion tool — I stick to fractional kelly because full kelly is a quick route to a dead bankroll. Dutching calculator is decent when I’m spreading across selections.
Not all sunshine though. Its interface looks pretty plain — no frills, which honestly I don’t mind but some will. Phone-wise it’s usable although the acca grid are a squeeze. And nothing on the app store, it’s browser only — doesn’t bother me but you asked.
Right, that’s me. Costs nowt, barely any ads, does what it says. If anyone even now does the maths on paper, give it a go — saved me plenty of dumb bets I’d have regretted.
