Étiqueté : single bet calculator
OK — have been messing about with this thing for about a few months now and I keep coming back, reckon I’d chuck my thoughts in since someone asked me last week. I’m in the UK, mainly stick to footie and the horses, a fiver here and there, just so you know where I’m coming from.
How I found it was honestly a bit daft — I could never get my head round what an ew return actually was with 1/5 odds a place. Basically I’d guess and get a shock. Now I type the odds in first, every time, even a straight one-selection punt.
The single bet calculator is the part I use most — type in stake and odds and it shows profit and total return with no faffing, either odds format. There’s also the fiddly ones — doubles and trebles returns, a lucky 15, a yankee, honestly that’s where I always lose track. If you want a look, it’s here acc calculator and there’s no login wall, which I appreciated.
One thing that genuinely changed how I bet is the more serious tools. There’s an odds-to-probability calculator and it makes obvious what margin’s baked in, and there’s the kelly calculator — I run quarter kelly since full stakes are a quick route to a dead bankroll. Dutching calculator is handy too when I’m splitting a race.
Couple of gripes. Its design looks a bit basic — not much flash, it’s clearly function over form. On mobile it works though the bigger tables need a bit of scrolling. And no proper app, just the site — slight shame but worth saying.
Anyway. Free, not plastered in adverts, does what it says. If you even now works out returns on a calculator app, have a look — saved me plenty of arguments with the bookie.
OK — have been messing about with this thing for something like five months now and I keep coming back, so thought I’d say something since a lad on another thread asked me a few days back. I’m in the UK, mostly bet football and racing, a fiver here and there, so take it how you like.
How I found it was actually embarrassing — I never could figure out what an e/w payout actually came to when the place terms changed. I used to just guess and moan when the payout landed. Now I type the odds in before I place anything, even the boring singles.
The single bet calculator is the one I use most — you put in your stake, the odds and it spits out returns with no faffing, fractions or decimals. There’s also the fiddly ones — doubles and trebles returns, a lucky 15, yankees, which is where I’d always mess it up. Have a go yourself, it lives at american betting odds converter — free, no signup.
One thing that actually shifted things for me were the geekier extras. They’ve got an odds-to-probability calculator that shows how much the bookie’s taking, and a kelly criterion calculator — I run quarter kelly as the full version is a quick route to a dead bankroll. The dutching one is decent if I’m spreading across selections.
Not all sunshine though. Its layout feels very functional, let’s say — not much flash, it’s clearly function over form. On mobile it works although the bigger tables make you pinch and zoom. There’s no app, it’s browser only — doesn’t bother me but worth saying.
Right, that’s me. Doesn’t cost anything, no ads shoved in your face, does what it says. If anyone honestly does the maths on paper, have a look — it’s saved me a fair few arguments with the bookie.
OK — been on this thing for maybe a few months now and I keep coming back, so thought I’d chuck my thoughts in since a lad on another thread asked me last week. Am UK based, mostly bet football and racing, small stakes, just so you know where I’m coming from.
How I found it was honestly embarrassing — I couldn’t ever work out what an ew payout would be when the place terms changed. I’d just guess and moan when the payout landed. Now punch the numbers in before I place anything, even the boring singles.
The single bet calculator is the one I open most — type in your stake, the odds and it spits out profit and total return with no faffing, either odds format. It also handles the multiples — doubles and trebles maths, lucky 15 and lucky 63, a yankee, and that’s where most people I know got it wrong. Have a go yourself, it’s over at each way bets calculator and there’s no login wall, which I appreciated.
What genuinely shifted things for me was the more serious extras. There’s an implied probability calculator which shows you how much the bookie’s taking, and there’s the kelly criterion tool — I use half kelly since full stakes are a quick route to a dead bankroll. The dutch tool gets used a fair bit if I’m splitting a race.
Couple of gripes. Its interface is a bit basic — not much frills, which honestly I don’t mind but some will. On my phone it’s fine though the acca grid need a bit of scrolling. There’s nothing on the app store, it’s a website and that’s it — slight shame but worth saying.
Right, that’s me. Costs nowt, no ads shoved in your face, does the job. If anyone still adds it up in their head, have a look — it’s saved me plenty of arguments with the bookie.
