Étiqueté : single bet calculator
So — been using this thing for something like four months now and it’s basically bookmarked at this point, so figured I’d chuck my thoughts in since someone asked me the other day. I’m in the UK, mostly bet football and racing, nothing mad, just so you know where I’m coming from.
What got me on it was honestly a bit daft — I couldn’t ever get my head round what an ew return would be when the place terms changed. I used to just guess and get a shock. Now I punch the numbers in before every slip, even a simple single bet.
The single bet calculator is the one I use most — type in your stake, the odds and it shows profit and total return straight away, fractional or decimal, doesn’t matter. It also handles the fiddly ones — trebles returns, a lucky 15, patents and yankees, which is where I always lose track. If you fancy a poke about, it’s over at trixie bet — free, no signup.
What actually shifted things for me was the more serious tools. There’s an implied probability thing that shows what margin’s baked in, plus a kelly criterion calculator — I stick to fractional kelly because full kelly is far too aggressive. The dutching one gets used a fair bit if I’m splitting a race.
Not all sunshine though. The interface feels very functional, let’s say — zero polish, looks like it was built by someone who cares more about maths than colours. On mobile it’s fine but the lucky 63 breakdown are a squeeze. Also there’s no proper app, it’s browser only — fine by me but you asked.
Anyway. Free, barely any ads, does what it says. Anyone who still adds it up in their head, give it a go — saved me plenty of dumb bets I’d have regretted.
OK — been using this thing for something like five months now and it’s basically bookmarked at this point, reckon I’d say something since a lad on another thread asked me the other day. I’m UK based, mostly stick to footie and the horses, small stakes, for context.
How I found it was actually pretty stupid — I could never figure out what an each way return would be once you get five places instead of three. I’d just wing it and moan when the payout landed. Now type the odds in before I place anything, even a simple single bet.
The single bet calculator is the part I open most — you put in the price and your stake and you get profit and total return with no faffing, either odds format. There’s also the bigger stuff — doubles and trebles maths, lucky 15s, a yankee, which is where I always lose track. Have a go yourself, it’s over at odds converter sports and it’s free with no account nonsense.
One thing that actually shifted things for me is the more serious tools. There’s an odds-to-probability thing that shows the overround, and there’s the kelly criterion tool — I run quarter kelly because full kelly is far too aggressive. Dutching calculator is handy too when I’m splitting a race.
Not all sunshine though. Its layout is a bit basic — not much flash, looks like it was built by someone who cares more about maths than colours. On my phone it works although the acca grid are a squeeze. And nothing on the app store, it’s browser only — fine by me just flagging it.
Right, that’s me. Doesn’t cost anything, barely any ads, does the job. If anyone honestly does the maths on paper, have a look — it’s saved me a fair few arguments with the bookie.
Right — have been messing about with this thing for maybe five months now and I keep coming back, reckon I’d say something since a mate asked me a few days back. Am based in the UK, mainly do football and horses, small stakes, so take it how you like.
How I found it was actually a bit daft — I could never figure out what an e/w return actually came to with 1/5 odds a place. Basically I’d guess and moan when the payout landed. These days I type the odds in first, every time, even a simple single bet.
The single bet calculator is the part I open most — you drop in the price and your stake and it spits out the return instantly, either odds format. There’s also the fiddly ones — acca and treble returns, a lucky 15, a yankee, and that’s where I’d always lose track. If you want a look, it’s over at kelly calculator betting and it’s free with no account nonsense.
The thing that genuinely shifted things for me were the more serious tools. They’ve got an implied probability calculator and it makes obvious what margin’s baked in, and a kelly tool — I stick to fractional kelly because full kelly is terrifying. The dutch tool gets used a fair bit for when I’m splitting a race.
It’s not perfect mind. The layout feels a bit basic — zero frills, which honestly I don’t mind but some will. On mobile it’s usable though the acca grid need a bit of scrolling. There’s nothing on the app store, it’s browser only — slight shame just flagging it.
So yeah. Costs nowt, not plastered in adverts, works. If you honestly does the maths on paper, have a look — it’s saved me a fair few « wait, that’s it? » moments.
