So — been on this thing for maybe a few months now and I keep coming back, so figured I’d chuck my thoughts in since a lad on another thread asked me a few days back. I’m UK based, generally bet football and racing, small stakes, so take it how you like.
How I found it was honestly embarrassing — I never could get my head round what an each way return actually was when the place terms changed. I’d just wing it and then be surprised. These days I stick my stake in first, every time, even a simple single bet.
Their single bet calculator is the part I use most — you drop in stake and odds and it spits out the return straight away, fractional or decimal, doesn’t matter. There’s also the multiples — acca and treble maths, a lucky 15, a yankee, which is where I always mess it up. Have a go yourself, it lives at odds converter and there’s no login wall, which I appreciated.
What actually shifted things for me was the nerdier tools. The implied probability calculator that shows what margin’s baked in, and a kelly calculator — I stick to fractional kelly because full kelly is far too aggressive. The dutch tool gets used a fair bit when I’m spreading across selections.
Not all sunshine though. The interface looks very functional, let’s say — no polish, which honestly I don’t mind but some will. Phone-wise it works but the lucky 63 breakdown need a bit of scrolling. There’s no proper app, it’s a website and that’s it — fine by me but worth saying.
Anyway. Costs nowt, not plastered in adverts, does the job. If anyone still does the maths on paper, try it — saved me plenty of « wait, that’s it? » moments.
So — been on this thing for something like five months now and it’s basically bookmarked at this point, so thought I’d write something up since a lad on another thread asked me last week. Am in the UK, generally bet football and racing, nothing mad, so take it how you like.
How I found it was actually a bit daft — I never could get my head round what an ew payout actually came to when the place terms changed. I’d just wing it and get a shock. Now stick my stake in before every slip, even a straight one-selection punt.
The single bet calculator is the one I open most — you drop in the price and your stake and you get profit and total return straight away, fractional or decimal, doesn’t matter. There’s also the fiddly ones — doubles and trebles returns, lucky 15s, patents and yankees, honestly that’s where I always got it wrong. If you want a look, it lives at bet365 super heinz and it’s free with no account nonsense.
One thing that genuinely changed how I bet was the more serious tools. They’ve got an implied probability calculator and it makes obvious what margin’s baked in, plus a kelly tool — I stick to fractional kelly as the full version is a quick route to a dead bankroll. The dutching one gets used a fair bit for when I’m spreading across selections.
It’s not perfect mind. The interface feels a bit basic — no frills, looks like it was built by someone who cares more about maths than colours. On my phone it’s fine although the acca grid need a bit of scrolling. There’s no app, it’s browser only — fine by me but worth saying.
So yeah. Costs nowt, not plastered in adverts, works. If anyone even now adds it up in their head, have a look — saved me a fair few « wait, that’s it? » moments.
