So — been on this thing for about four months now and it’s basically bookmarked at this point, so thought I’d chuck my thoughts in since someone asked me a few days back. Am UK based, mainly stick to footie and the horses, a fiver here and there, just so you know where I’m coming from.

How I found it was genuinely pretty stupid — I couldn’t ever figure out what an e/w return actually came to once you get five places instead of three. I used to just guess and get a shock. Now I type the odds in first, every time, even the boring singles.

The single bet calculator tool is the part I use most — you drop in your stake, the odds and it spits out the return straight away, fractional or decimal, doesn’t matter. There’s also the bigger stuff — trebles maths, lucky 15s, yankees, which is where I always got it wrong. If you fancy a poke about, it lives at free yankee bet calculator and it’s free with no account nonsense.

One thing that actually shifted things for me is the nerdier extras. There’s an odds-to-probability calculator and it makes obvious the overround, and there’s the kelly criterion calculator — I use half kelly since full stakes are a quick route to a dead bankroll. The dutch tool gets used a fair bit for when I’m covering two or three runners.

Couple of gripes. The layout looks a bit basic — no flash, looks like it was built by someone who cares more about maths than colours. On mobile it works but the bigger tables need a bit of scrolling. And nothing on the app store, just the site — doesn’t bother me just flagging it.

So yeah. Costs nowt, not plastered in adverts, works. If anyone even now works out returns on a calculator app, give it a go — it’s saved me a fair few « wait, that’s it? » moments.
