OK — been on this thing for about four months now and it’s basically bookmarked at this point, so figured I’d write something up since a mate asked me last week. Am in the UK, mostly bet football and racing, a fiver here and there, so take it how you like.

How I found it was actually pretty stupid — I never could get my head round what an ew return would be when the place terms changed. Basically I’d guess and get a shock. Now stick my stake in before I place anything, even a simple single bet.

The single bet calculator tool is the bit I use most — type in your stake, the odds and you get profit and total return instantly, fractions or decimals. There’s also the bigger stuff — acca and treble returns, lucky 15s, yankees, and that’s where most people I know got it wrong. Have a go yourself, it’s here bet calculator and there’s no login wall, which I appreciated.

The thing that actually shifted things for me was the geekier bits. The probability calculator that shows the overround, and a kelly staking calculator — I stick to fractional kelly because full kelly is terrifying. The dutch tool gets used a fair bit when I’m covering two or three runners.

It’s not perfect mind. Its interface is a bit basic — zero polish, it’s clearly function over form. On my phone it works but the bigger tables need a bit of scrolling. And no app, it’s browser only — doesn’t bother me just flagging it.

Anyway. Costs nowt, not plastered in adverts, does what it says. Anyone who honestly does the maths on paper, have a look — saves me plenty of arguments with the bookie.

Right — been on this thing for something like a few months now and I keep coming back, so thought I’d say something since a mate asked me the other day. Am in the UK, mostly stick to footie and the horses, a fiver here and there, so take it how you like.

How I found it was genuinely pretty stupid — I couldn’t ever work out what an e/w payout actually was when the place terms changed. I’d just guess and then be surprised. These days I type the odds in first, every time, even a simple single bet.

The single bet calculator tool is the part I open most — you put in your stake, the odds and it spits out the return instantly, either odds format. There’s also the bigger stuff — trebles returns, lucky 15 and lucky 63, yankees, honestly that’s where most people I know lose track. If you fancy a poke about, it lives at kalkulator single bet — free, no signup.

The thing that really changed how I bet were the nerdier tools. The implied probability calculator that shows what margin’s baked in, and a kelly staking tool — I run quarter kelly because full kelly is far too aggressive. Dutching calculator is handy too if I’m covering two or three runners.

Not all sunshine though. The interface looks a bit basic — not much flash, it’s clearly function over form. On my phone it works though the bigger tables make you pinch and zoom. There’s no proper app, it’s browser only — fine by me but you asked.

Right, that’s me. Free, not plastered in adverts, does what it says. If anyone still adds it up in their head, try it — it’s saved me a fair few « wait, that’s it? » moments.

So — been using this thing for about five months now and it’s basically bookmarked at this point, so thought I’d chuck my thoughts in since someone asked me the other day. I’m UK based, mainly do football and horses, nothing mad, so take it how you like.

What got me on it was actually embarrassing — I never could work out what an e/w payout actually was once you get five places instead of three. Basically I’d wing it and get a shock. Now I type the odds in first, every time, even the boring singles.

The single bet calculator tool is the one I use most — you put in the price and your stake and it spits out returns straight away, fractional or decimal, doesn’t matter. It also handles the fiddly ones — acca and treble maths, a lucky 15, yankees, and that’s where most people I know mess it up. Have a go yourself, it’s here betting odds converter calculator and there’s no login wall, which I appreciated.

One thing that really made a difference is the geekier bits. The probability thing that shows what margin’s baked in, plus a kelly criterion calculator — I use half kelly as the full version is a quick route to a dead bankroll. The dutching one is decent when I’m splitting a race.

Couple of gripes. Its design looks pretty plain — no frills, it’s clearly function over form. On mobile it’s usable though the bigger tables are a squeeze. Also there’s no proper app, it’s browser only — doesn’t bother me but you asked.

Right, that’s me. Doesn’t cost anything, no ads shoved in your face, does the job. Anyone who even now works out returns on a calculator app, try it — it’s saved me a fair few dumb bets I’d have regretted.
