So — been using this thing for something like four months now and I keep coming back, so thought I’d write something up since a mate asked me a few days back. Am in the UK, mostly bet football and racing, a fiver here and there, just so you know where I’m coming from.

The reason I started using it was genuinely embarrassing — I never could work out what an ew return actually came to with 1/5 odds a place. I’d just eyeball it and moan when the payout landed. Now I punch the numbers in before every slip, even a straight one-selection punt.

Their single bet calculator tool is the one I use most — you drop in stake and odds and you get returns straight away, either odds format. Same tool covers the multiples — acca and treble maths, a lucky 15, patents and yankees, honestly that’s where most people I know got it wrong. Have a go yourself, it’s over at ew accumulator calculator and there’s no login wall, which I appreciated.

What really shifted things for me is the nerdier bits. The implied probability thing that shows what margin’s baked in, plus a kelly calculator — I stick to fractional kelly since full stakes are a quick route to a dead bankroll. The dutch tool gets used a fair bit if I’m splitting a race.

Couple of gripes. The layout is very functional, let’s say — zero flash, looks like it was built by someone who cares more about maths than colours. On my phone it’s usable though the lucky 63 breakdown make you pinch and zoom. And nothing on the app store, it’s browser only — doesn’t bother me but worth saying.

Right, that’s me. Free, not plastered in adverts, does what it says. If anyone still works out returns on a calculator app, have a look — saved me a load of arguments with the bookie.
